Hidden "Jewels" in New Jersey
NVAA Spring Trip
April 27-29, 2010

Hidden away between Philadelphia and New York City is an area of New Jersey that has several spectacular attractions. One of them is Grounds for Sculpture, the first stop on our two day tour to New Jersey. After lunch at their charming restaurant which is reminiscent of Monet’s home in Giverney, we will have a guided tour of this incredible sculpture garden and arboretum. These grounds showcase works done by American and internationally known artists. If time permits, we will make a quick stop in Princeton, New Jersey, a charming university town steeped in history since first established in 1675. Later in the day we will be checking into the Clarion Palmer Inn which is just outside the town of Princeton. Dinner will be at BT Bistro a chic new restaurant newly opened in the Clarion Palmer Inn.

Wednesday, April 28th starts with our included breakfast and then a tour of Drumthwacket, the governor of New Jersey’s mansion. Drumthwacket is a stately Greek revival structure built in 1835 by Charles Olden, who later became governor of New Jersey. This beautiful home is filled with classic antique treasures. Our next stop is Lambertville, New Jersey known for its great antiquing. Here we will have lunch at Lambertville Station in the town’s Victorian train station.
