Nemours Mansion and Gardens re-opened in May, 2009 with over a $39 million renovation. This sumptuous estate was the French chateau style home of Alfred DuPont and his idea of building an “American” Versailles. The mansion displays fine 17th century antiques, exquisite tapestries, Oriental rugs and outstanding works of art. Built in 1909, the Beaux Arts design of Nemours is one of the grandest surviving examples of an American villa of the Golden Age. The grounds surrounding the chateau are among the finest examples of French-style gardens in the United States.
Lunch will be at the nearby Du Pont Country Club where we will have a choice of chicken, salmon or pasta primavera. Nestled in the lush Brandywine River Valley this historic property presents the perfect DuPont hospitality.
Sign up early and do not miss this unique opportunity to see the DuPont’s at their very best. When registering, please indicate your choice of entrée on your check.
