One of the most spectacular homes in Baltimore is Evergreen Museum and Library. Built in 1857 by the Broadbent family, Evergreen was purchased in 1878 by John W. Garrett, president of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroads. Thus began a history which last for two generations of the Garrett family. This 48-room Italianate mansion includes a theater, a rare book library, twentieth century paintings and priceless antiques.
Lunch will be buffet at the elegant Engineers Club at the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion. This property was the former home of Mary Garrett-Jacobs, the grand dame of Baltimore society and is considered the jewel in the crown of Baltimore's most distinctive historic homes. After lunch a guided tour of this beautiful mansion will be offered.
